Bringing hope to Ethiopia via skateboarding

 Slope 48 and, in partnership with Christian Skaters because every mother matters and the Ethiopian skatepark Project, bring a huge team Ethiopia, boards, skate ramps, skate shoes and more, building education and try to change, the community, and the lives of the children in the area. Have the kids grab there is at this moment to make plates of scrap wood wheels and trucks to replace it with a block of wood so they can learn some tricks flip. In the capital alone there are more than 100,000 street children who have been orphaned or abandoned. These children deal with extreme poverty, AIDS, violence, threats of trafficking and much more. This school/skate park will each of them a chance at a better life and the confidence to know that someone believes in them in their future.
Companies like black box, Tumyeto, Element, vans, etc. are all donating as much as possible is completed. How can people help? They should be more boards and shoes! And this doesn't have to be perfect. Everything will be much more than these children would ever get on their own!

"Almost certainly" in 2012 Olympic skateboarding

The 2012 Olympics this summer, and again, the question should be included surfaces-skateboarding? This year looks like the time the answer would be Yes finally!
The London Evening Standard reported that, "the International Olympic Committee officials held talks with skateboard in Switzerland this week to agree a timetable for the inclusion of sport." Now, there's a lot of suspicious talk in that sense ... "skateboard officials"? Why are they in Switzerland? And, is now a "sport" skateboarding?!
But all that aside, it seems that the odds are very good to take for skateboarding on this year. That is flat out crazy, given that rugby, golf and baseball not! Hey, I'm fine with it – skateboarding could use some love, and this is a great way to (read more about the drama of getting into the Olympic skateboarding) to get.
The type of skateboarding that is vert, who thinks about including them is also interesting. I mean, it makes a lot of sense-vert is pretty spectacular, and easier to score than complicated Street runs. It looks great on TV. It is impressive. Vert has, however, are teetering on the brink of irrelevance for some time. Back in 2008, the "X Games was actually dropping vert > until there was a huge pro skater revolt! And now, perhaps the first form of skateboarding to be a legitimate Olympic sport, get a haircut and move out of the basement.

Sk8 Wars urban battles AM Tour will start in LA this Weekend

The first "SK8 wars urban battles AM Tour" will be at the L.A. Sports Arena Saturday, 17 March, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Celebrity judges town youngsters who compete skateboarding for a total of $ 5,000 in cash and prizes will evaluate.
While the competition, in the concert room on the L.A. Sports Arena, music fans and skating enthusiast can enjoy Sk8 wars urban battles AM Tour all day, hip-hop/Rock concert performances, hosted by actor and skateboarder, Darris love. Artist include headliner Soulja Boy, The New Boyz, Rick Thorne & Good Guys in black, the Ranger $ Stretford end, DA Wonder Broz and Brian James.
While more urban youth are recognizing and excels in this sport, prepares SK8 wars the community to support this. "We want to bring celebrity skateboarders inner city youth and creating a platform to support hidden stars in the community," SK8 wars founder, William Lamar said. There is already true inner city skating talent in Los Angeles, and the Sk8 wars competition will spotlight them.
